Skye

Hand & Eye | Tom Housden

Skye is a petite round wall light produced using the gorgeous through-coloured porcelain of Sue Pryke’s ceramics studio, also seen in our Isla wall light.

The richness of the porcelain material is emphasised by the mix of matt texture on the outside of the gentle bowl-like shade and shiny clear glaze on the inside. A well as creating a pleasing contrast, the raw exterior surface blends well with wall finishes and the gloss interior adds radiance with light glancing off and reflecting around the surface.

The choice of four colours means that Skye can be used to blend in or contrast with other decorative elements in a space and its size makes it ideal for a variety of locations, anywhere that a touch of classic illumination and visual interest is desired.

Please note Hand and Eye is certified on request. Please allow for a certification fee and additional lead.

Designer

Tom Housden

Tom Housden runs a successful architectural practice, Outpost. However, he felt the choice of lighting on the market didn’t always meet project requirements and design ethos of the practice.

Housden went on to found London-based lighting studio Hand & Eye, where he designs and produces ranges that correspond to his vision of creating lighting that has a transformative effect on spaces and the people who live and work in them.
